Tom Atkisson, who had worked for Nacke for 12 years, described him for the Washington Post:
"Lou was the kind of guy that could take you into the office and kind of let
you know where you were and where you needed to be, and then five minutes
later come back and be joking with you.
"He was very career-oriented. But eventually he met Amy and was very happy
finally after years of being single."
